Through
these sacred shrines meanders the greatest river of India,
Ganga. According to legend, Goddess Ganga took the form
of a river to support life on earth and hence is the most
venerated deity in Hinduism. The four Dhams receive their
holy waters in the form of four streams - Yamuna (in Yamunotri);
Bhagirathi (in Gangotri): Mandakini (in Kedarnath): and
Alaknanda (in Badrinath). oly confluences, scenic surroundings
and an aura of spiritual serenity make an ideal abode for
the Gods and are a refreshing reward for the pilgrims who
visit from all over the world.
